Just call 688-4715 for more information. There are different propane and kerosene gas delivery distributors in the area or you can haul your own kerosene from different stations in the area. The local DMV License Plate Agency is run by a subcontracter and their hours differ from the state's hours of operation. Bakersville Town Office 828-688-2113 The electric company is French Broad Electric Membership Corp 688-4815 The elementary school is Gouge 688-2141 The middle school is Bowman 688-2752 The Mitchell County Board of Education's number is 688-4432 Whether you live in the Town of Spruce Pine or any of the surrounding areas, you will find that you have a choice as to where and/or how you want your trash to be disposed of. Within the city limits there is trash collection once a week and household and other refuse once a month in which you need to call and inform the town that you want it picked up. There are several recycling centers around that are available for use as well. These recycling centers are closed on Wednesdays and Sundays. There is one on Altapass, Hwy 226S (going towards Bakersville) and one in Red Hill. The municipal dump is located on Hwy 80 N and has a place to dump most construction as well as household waste. We will be adding and changing this content as needed. |
